Unlock The Mystery Force of the Island of Crete
Crete is the largest island of Greece. It’s a fine amalgamation of all the good things that Greece can provide; all found in one island. The well-kept Venetian cities of Chania and Rethymno. The cosmopolitan city of Heraklion. The exceptional local cuisine of yiayias in the little villages. The imposing mountains. The local people that are eager to offer you raki to have a nice chat with you. The general feeling of Greek hospitality. Yet, most people come to Crete to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and positive energy that the sea and many exotic beaches around the coastline of Crete offer, that cannot be found anywhere else in the world.
Balos Lagoon
Discovergreece describes Crete as:
The largest island in Greece, Crete is a feast for the senses: wild natural beauty and thousands of years of culture, history and exquisite cuisine
They further quote Nikos Kazantzakis, Crete’s most celebrated author, in Report to Greco.
The mystery of Crete runs deep. Whoever sets foot on this island senses a mysterious force coursing warmly and beneficently through their veins, sensing their soul beginning to grow.
How can you begin to unlock this mystery force? It’s easy, you will have to live and explore Crete with the locals.
How can you do that?
A boat trip with our local skippers is the best way to do it. Not only do you hang out with real Cretans, you also get the chance to learn the customs, and the secret secluded places.
We have put together different docks and ports from where you can start your boat trip in search of this ardent feeling of liberation and inner growth of the soul.
Chania – one of the most popular tourist destinations in Greece. You can start your boat trip to Balos and Gramvousa and explore the Gulf of Chania. It might take 1.5h to reach Balos, but you will see numerous beaches during this trip. We believe, though, that Gramvousa is more wild and exotic, a better way to feel the mystery force of Crete.
Kissamos – also a very popular tourist destination, if you want more peace and quiet from the cosmopolitan city of Chania. At the port of Kastelli, you will find our RIB boats waiting for you. You will be able to reach Balos in less than a 30-minute boat ride with or without our skippers. When in Balos, explore the lagoon, and drench in the warm, shallow waters for a meditating state of mind.
Paleochora – a micro-version of Chania, this city is also very popular if you want to eat locally and see wilder places. You can easily reach not only Elafonissi and Falassarna if Aeolus, the God of the Wind allows it. Paleochora is also the starting point of your boat trip to the South of Crete. Depending on what you want to see, you can reach Sougia, Agios Pavlos and Marmara; famous beaches for having the bluest waters in all Crete. Another amazing place that you can reach on a private boat transfer is the wild island of Gavdos. Some say it is the best way to return to the human roots and detach yourself from civilization.
Ierapetra – this port is mostly prefered by people living in or close to Elounda, Agios Nikolaos and Lassithi. A boat cruise from Ierapetra can really take you on an exploration of exotic places, not so popular by tourists. You can visit by boat the islands of Chrissi Island (Gaidouronissi or Donkey Island) and Koufonisi island. Both places aim to provide you with a feeling of relaxation due to their wild and uninhabited scenery.
